The art you see here is embedded in human - nature relation among other things. Paraphrasing Mark Rothko, the pictures are experiences. Every viewer has her or his own perception that in our opinion should roam free of preconceptions. Thus we do not suggest any formal labels when presenting our collection. Instead you are invited on a journey. We wish it to be an exhilarating trip.
SÓL collection started with acquiring a work titled Raba Nizna by Krzysztof Grzybacz.
Raba Nizna is a village we often visited on our trips to the Tatra Mountains in southern Poland. It marks the border between lower valleys and uplands, the transition is gentle and the village houses have typical steep gable roofs that bring to mind alpine summits.
We believe in simplicity, our guiding principle in constructing a sort of constellation that is coherent and intellectually absorbing. The presented artworks are of various media, interconnected by abstract form, tone and feeling. Together they form a space rich in patterns, repetitions and rhythmical associations. Just like out in the mountains, you are free to immerse yourself in a specific ambience - that is the aforementioned journey that we want you to experience.
The SÓL collection started in rural Norway in 2021, where we moved from a big city. From hunger to being in the presence of a masterpiece and wishing to support fellow artists. By direct and individual agreements with art novices as well as professional artists SÓL aims to increase the standards in artist-client relations. SÓL follows the paths of its artists for better knowledge of current art market conditions.
Finally, we are grateful to all the great masters of abstract art that we constantly draw inspiration from in creating SÓL.
